Rachael Schmidt
Rachael Schmidt is a public health associate working with the Spartanburg Regional Foundation as a fellow of the Public Health Associate Program (PHAP), a two-year fellowship program operated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
She recently moved from Portland, Oregon for this assignment after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Management and Policy at Oregon State University in Spring 2023. At the Foundation, she works alongside the Strategic Philanthropy team to provide public health data for grant leveraging, aids in public health program implementation for grant-funded projects and collaborates with the Youth Ambassadors and Partners of Connect to create positive youth outcomes. Rachael has prior experience working with at-risk youth who are experiencing homelessness or out-of-home placements and is trained in youth crisis intervention. Additionally, she has field experience pilot testing public health interventions in international and rural settings.
Rachael has adopted a rescue lab mix named Tucker, who enjoys hiking and exploring with her on the weekends.
