Grant Project Manager
Lucy Willms

Lucy Willms joined the Foundation in March 2024. As the lead grant writer, she collaborates with the Strategic Philanthropy Team to identify funding opportunities and submit grant proposals that address the needs of the healthcare system. In her former role, she served as the Adolescent Health Grant Manager with the Spartanburg School District Consortium where she worked closely with the Connect Initiative to improve school-based health and wellness. She also served as the Director of Grants and Evaluation for PASOs at the University of South Carolina which supports Latino immigrant communities through education, advocacy and leadership development. She has extensive experience in grant writing and management, supporting community-based initiatives and engaging with diverse populations.

Lucy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and Spanish from Georgetown University and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Community Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is eager to combine her skills as a grant writer and her passion for public health to support the Foundation in strengthening our healthcare system, incorporating innovative ideas to overcome systemic barriers and strategically investing our resources to impact the health of our communities.

In her spare time, Lucy enjoys listening to pop culture podcasts, trying new recipes, and adventuring outdoors with her husband, Kyle, and 5-year-old son, Benjamin.
