Watching a butterfly take flight can be a memorable and inspiring experience. It also helps remember a loved one or provide a feeling of a “second flight” following the end of treatment for a serious illness.
The Wings of Hope butterfly release takes place each August in the beautiful Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health Garden. Family members, friends, and caregivers gather for refreshments and to watch several hundred colorful butterflies take to the air. The event is especially exciting for children. Proceeds benefit the heart, cancer and hospice divisions of Spartanburg Regional Foundation.
Wings of Hope offers two donation levels. For $30, donors can add a butterfly to a mass butterfly release. For a $100 donation donors can release an individual butterfly in honor or in memory of a loved one. For more information, call 864-560-6727.
