Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts in the form of a charitable donation can have lasting meaning to friends and family members of the deceased.

Gifts in the name of a deceased friend or family member can be made to the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, where funds will be dispersed to areas of need or the donor can specify a department or division. Upon receiving your gift, the Spartanburg Foundation will send an acknowledgement to the family of the deceased without mention of the gift’s value. You too will receive an acknowledgement for your gift for tax purposes. Your gift will be recognized in Foundation publications.

Directing Memorial Gifts to the Spartanburg Regional Foundation

Oftentimes, families ask how to list Spartanburg Regional as a designated charity in their loved one’s obituary to benefit a specific program or department. It is for this reason that we offer the following suggested language:

“In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a donation in memory of (Name of Loved One) to (Name of Department, Program or Fund) at Spartanburg Regional Foundation; 101 East Wood Street; Spartanburg, SC 29303”

If you wish to notify us that general gifts made in your loved one’s memory should be designated toward a specific program, or if you have any questions, please call the Foundation at 864-560-6727.
